LIKE is wishy washy. LOVE what you do.

I’ve written about doing what you love and loving what you do before. As we all begin a new year, it’s the perfect time to STOP, close our eyes, and consider what we’re all doing with our efforts, our creativity, our energy, our passion. Our hours turn into days turn into years. Before we know it our kids are off to college, our hair is grayer, and we have less horizons than memories.

I feel extraordinarily fortunate to B. here. I went from VP to Pee-Pee in a life gift that at the moment was petrifying, yet in retrospect seems magic.

And I will chant these words like a mantra from every mountaintop and soapbox I can stand on, to friends and acquaintances, even folks I’ll never meet—I printed them on every single B. box—do what you love.

And if you can do what you love and do good at the same time... BONUS! You’ll feel powerful and enriched beyond measure.

I wish that for all of you in 2011, and B.yond. :)

Don’t just like.
LIKE is watered-down love.
Like is mediocre.
Like is the wishy-washy emotion of the content.
Athletes don’t do it for the like of a sport.
Artists don’t suffer for the like of art.
There is no I Like N.Y. T-shirt.
And Romeo didn’t just like Juliet.
LOVE.
Now that’s powerful stuff.
Love changes things. Upsets things. Conquers things.
Love is at the root of everything good that has ever happened
and will ever happen.
LOVE what you do.

Thank you Aleksey for your video. You cannot imagine how powerful a chord it struck in me and my little DoodleDo design team.
