Would you believe I did not recognize my 6 year old’s self-portrait? In a hall-length row of actual-size Kindergarten body tracings I went for the straight-up drawing with the big brown eyes and the face-forward “normal” pose. Wrong!

Turns out the totally loose, dancing, swirlie-eyed drawing was my Rio. After an “ouch” moment passed in my heart, Rio held my hand and said…“Mom, look THIS is how you can tell which one’s me. It says "I love my Mom."

I’m still a puddle on the floor in that hall.

And I once again am reminded that kids know how to B. You.
